Draft Neighbourhood Development Plan August 2019
Results of the public consultation on the first draft.
The residents and businesses of Alderley Edge gave the Neighbourhood Development Plan (NDP) resounding support during the public consultation in August and September 2019. All but one of the policies received over 80% support, with some achieving a 99% approval. 94% of respondents supported the plan overall.
There were 186 responses via our questionnaire, with an additional 121 letters submitted regarding the Heyes Lane allotments. No consensus was reached on the matter of the support needed for the Festival Hall. Although 72% of the respondents to the questionnaire agreed with a quarter of the Heyes Lane allotments adjoining the Festival Hall being used as a car park to support the viability of the Hall (with the remaining three quarters remaining as green space) a further 121 letters were received objecting to inclusion of any car parking. As a result, the policy concerned this matter has been removed from the latest plan.
